Learn Top 10 U.S. Threats

As we countdown the days remaining in 2010, other countdowns are being widdled away…

I heard a little girl counting down a new version of “A Partridge in a Pair Tree” on a recent flight. While her father sang the many versus about Cocker Spaniels and St. Bernard’s, little Ava bellowed a big finish with – “And a Poodle in a dog house”…

Other countdowns include # of shopping days till Christmas, or even the number of enjoyable days left before we affect our New Year’s resolutions…LOL

Asteroid striking EarthOne countdown in particular caught my eye as I surfed the web – a science view of Natural Threats to the U.S.   Well, while they are all not likely any time soon – some may be imminent and others not impossible (should the stars, moon, and Murphy align).

So, I wonder – if any of the 10 disasters on the list were to happen, would we be ready?countown usthreats

Learn the 3 Key Components required to respond to any man-made or natural disaster.

When it comes to disasters, pre-established communications (e.g., Nextel, Verizon, AT&T) are almost always unavailable when it matters most...time is of the essence to communicate between agencies in order to save lives.

With these 3 components, regardless of manufacturer or viable service providers, are instrumental to law enforcement and other homeland security agencies in disaster recovery efforts.

The first phone calls made by the President, FEMA and other first response agencies to their loved ones and coordinating facilities following the wake of the worst hurricane in U.S. history were made possible by these same components.

This technology provided efficient and effective collaboration between the forces when other means of communications were unreliable or non-existent.
